We did it!

Sweet success! Found a dress. Whew! One stop, no fights, $30!

Keep your fingers crossed

Tessa and I are going shopping tonight for a homecoming dress. Hopefully it will be a mother/daughter fight-free evening. Last year was great, we agreed on the dress, didn't look a million places and only paid $35.00!

Politics

Brian's friend Scott is running for Powell City Council. (So if you live in Powell, vote for Scott Beilharz. ) Anyway, he had a fundraiser Sunday. Here is Caroline's first political statement.
Also, the Powell City Offices are in the building where the fundraiser was. Caroline sat in a chair at the podium and had us sit in the audience and ask her questions. Maybe if Scott needs a running mate he should consider Caroline...

Barbie Fairy Princess

We went to the zoo today to see Barbie Fairy Princess in person. She was scheduled to appear for 20 minutes. The lines were so long to get in to see her. She was in a pavillion at the zoo, so it was really just a big open area. When they got us all in to the area they announced that you had to form a line to see Barbie, and that after her 20 minutes she was leaving. Without exaggerating there were 1,000 people there at least. So imagine all of those people trying to form a line. People started arguing, and they had to get the zoo security people. There were so many little girls crying. We decided to just skip the "line" and see the animals. We did get to see her and take a picture though on our way out. The funny thing is that Barbie wasn't even really all that great.

More from Toronto

OK, there were private parties all over the place. We were walking around and found these giant outdoor party tents with HUGE chandeliers hanging from the peaks of the tents. It seriously looked like some kind of very trendy club. It was for a party that night called Schmooze-fest and was right next to the red carpet where the celebrities got interviewed and then they went into the party. Check out how big the chandelier is. There were loads of them! Then, we saw black squirrels all over the place. I have NEVER seen a black squirrel. I had to do a little chasing to get a good picture of one. When I asked people why the squirrels there were black they asked me what color ours were. They seem to think most squirrels are black. Also included for your viewing pleasure is a picture of Kathy in some library. I'm sure the library was important or historical but I can't remember why. (I did ask them to use the Internet to look up information for the Hillary Duff event that night!)

I love Toronto!

It is clean, it is reasonably priced. It is easy to get around in. The people are wildly nice. And all very well dressed and attractive. Nice! Last night we got our names on a private party list that started at midnight. Samuel L Jackson was there, Bill Mahr, and a bunch of hockey players that we did not know. It was so cool. I saw Dustin Hoffman getting coffee and Christina Applegate working out. We got in around 5 a.m. this morning. I woke up in my dress from the night before. Then I fell down in the shower. Oops! What a blast.

Red Carpet Event!

Kathy and I were walking home today and there was a red carpet event right around the corner from our hotel. We decided to stop and watch and no kidding, we saw Jake Gyllenhaal and Meryl Streep.
We were maybe from 15 feet from them! It was awesome!

Canada, eh?

So, Kathy and I are headed to Toronto for the Toronto International Film Festival. I'm so excited! Anyway, we are driving to Windsor and taking the train from Windsor to Toronto. Look how much fun the train is going to be!

First scalper of the season

So I went to get gas and a Starbucks this morning and saw this scalper at the corner on Lane and North Star. So exciting!

And here is Caroline in her new OSU outfit. (Last years was a little on the short side) I went to Buckeye Corner this morning and got the last one. There was actually another little girl trying it on but she wanted a different outfit so I asked her parents if they were going to get it or not and they gave it to me. Whew! Then, there was a long line at Starbucks and they gave me my drink for free. Today must be my lucky day! FYI- I have an OSU bankcard from Huntington. If you have one you get 10% off at Buckeye Corner. Nice!

It's game day!

We slept with our windows open last night and woke up to the sounds of the OSU Marching Band practicing this morning. Music to my ears! GO BUCKS!
